5 out of 5 stars Fantastic For Tribal Combos   February 27, 2008

Fantastic dvd. This tutorial is set up in a way, I wish more dance dvds were produced and the instruction organized---along with clear instruction of combinations you will actually use.

Each combination is demonstrated first - then broken down clearly.
(Note: The breakdown of each combo is clear but you need to already have basic understanding of basic tribal or bellydance movements).
Then practice. It is a great bonus, that she also teaches the cues for each combination, so you may use for a troupe performance.
The combos are grouped into - Slow and Medium (pace), drops and shimmy combinations----about 11 combinations total. At the end of each combo section, Domba demonstrates as a group what the movements can look like incorporated together as a dance.

Loved the music! The music helps get you into the feeling of the dance as you learn the steps. It would be great if there was a CD with these particular songs from the dvd, but it doesn't seem there is one available at this time.
I would definitely recommend this dvd. The combinations taught are really great for tribal group performances, and even can be used for tribal solo as well. Just remember, the moves are more intermediate, not really suited for a beginner without dance experience.

Okay, so I'm not quite ready to make it through the entire DVD on this one. But I like the movements and the way they are explained and shown. Note to people who have not done belly dance before...you can sprain the muscle in only 1 rear cheek. Trust me on this. DVD good for explaining things an instructor doesn't or for a do it yourself person.
