| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Another day, another downward-facing dog. In the second of the Power Yoga for Beginners series, Rodney Yee focuses on the spine, upper back, and abdomen. Naturally, there are a lot of dogs here, but they're integrated into a vigorous, dynamic sequence designed to build arm strength and good upper-body posture. Sun salutations flow into a series of challenging strength poses, including arm balances and the pendulum and eastern plank positions. It's quite a workout--the minute or so of shavasana that concludes the tape seems woefully short! In theory, the movement from one exercise to the next is smooth and seamless, helping you integrate the mind, body, and breath and engage in the present moment. In practice, you may find yourself hitting the pause button from time to time, at least at first. In fact, that's not a bad idea; power yoga moves quite quickly, and it could be easy to hurt yourself when trying out an unfamiliar or difficult pose. Like all yoga tapes, this one works best as a supplement to class with an experienced instructor
